This month we welcomed Harriet, Noah and Oliver into the Ducklings Room.
Over the past month the children have been continuing to explore the idea of construction. They have been building with magnetic blocks and learning to use tape measures. The children have enjoyed pulling the tape measures out and retracting them back in and watching the educators measure each of the ducking children against the wall. The children are also beginning to learn how to cut with scissors and have enjoyed playing with farm animals on felt boards.
Ben, our student, made a cardboard bus and the children had a wonderful time painting the bus, using sponges and their fingers. All the children enjoyed exploring the colours and the feeling of paint on their hands.
We have placed a wooden train set onto a large table for the children to learn to build the tracks and move the trains along the track. We have also introduced two magnetic boxes (sea and insect) and a large green tub with sand for the children to explore. The children have also been provided with little beanbags which they can toss into buckets to improve their motor skills.
We have recently made a family tree to which we are adding photos of each of our families. If you have not yet brought in your family photo, please do so, so that we can add it to our tree.
We hope all our father’s enjoyed their Father’s Day gifts and card.
We would like to thank all of the parents who joined in the Working bee, particularly Nigel and Hong for helping clean our front garden and Sharni, Lisa and Julie for cleaning the outdoor storeroom and setting up the new experiences in the outdoor playground.
