Kinder Room – November Update

Hello Parents,

We would like to wish Maisey and Oshin a Happy 5th birthdays and we hope that they enjoy their day.

Well who can believe that Term 4 is upon us already?  This term the children have begun preparing for their kinder graduation.  The children have selected some songs which they want to share with their families and we have begun rehearsal for our special presentation on the evening.  If parents have not already done so, can they please return their graduation reply cards and gown hire forms ASAP.

The children have also continued with their school readiness as we continue to learn the letters and sounds of the alphabet and also counting and colour identification.  This has been done through songs as well as games.

Take home teddy has continued this Term and the children are continuing to enjoy spending time with their teddies and writing and drawing about what they are doing.  All children by the end of Term will have has a chance to participate in this.  We sit down with the children at group times and go through the books with the children reading about what our friends have done with their take home teddy.

At the beginning of Term 4 families were handed their parts of the School Transition Statements.  If you have not already done so, I need them back ASAP as I have to send them to the school with my section of the statements.  All parents will be provided with the opportunity to view my section of the statements before they are sent to the school.

Monday November 18th sees the kinder children going on an excursion to Essendon Traffic School.  All children and the parents who are volunteering need to be at kinder by 9am as the bus will be leaving at 9.30am.  If you are late on the day it will be your responsibility to get your child to the traffic school.  Children are also asked to bring their own helmets with them on the excursion.

We also have another excursion to Werribee Zoo happening on Friday 6th of December.  All children and parents who are volunteering need to be at kinder by 9.30am as the bus will be leaving for the zoo at 10am. If you are late on the day it will be your responsibility to get your child to Werribee Zoo.  We will be providing lunch for the children and parents are asked to provide their own healthy lunch within the guidelines of our healthy eating policy.

Please remember that our sun smart policy in now in effect and children are required to bring a broad-brimmed hat or a legionnaire’s hat to kinder (Caps are not an acceptable piece of sun smart clothing), as well as their own sunscreen if they can’t use ours and also a drink bottle.  Children who do not have the proper sun smart clothing will be required to play on the veranda area.

If you have any questions in regards to your child please speak to kinder staff.

Thank You

Belinda, Nazneen and Julie
