Derby Street Building Works

Management and staff are very excited about our recent renovations.

Our children and staff have benefited from a number of building upgrades and improvements over the last 12 months.

Each of the children’s rooms have been installed with new bathrooms. The Tiny Tots room has had new carpet and vinyl installed, a wall moved to increase the floor space, new indoor and outdoor storage areas built as well as an additional viewing window installed into the babies’ sleeping room for improved sightlines. The Kinder room has been extended and a new storeroom and kitchen installed to improve the use of the space as well as new glass doors installed. Other improvements have been made to the Centre’s main entrance, carpark, office and staffroom. We would like to thank Moreland City Council for providing the funds for this project.

A number of other works will be completed in the coming months including transforming the front garden and area around the office into a relaxing outdoor area for parents to sit and catch up with other families. We plan to landscape the area with drought tolerant plants, wooden outdoor furniture, grass and a paved area to improve the street frontage.

The children’s outdoor areas will also undergo some maintenance work, with the decking areas needing to be varnished, new planting and a general tidy up at the next working bee.
