Firstly we would like to welcome all our Duckling Families into the Ducklings Room for 2015. The educators Julie.J, Sue, Kamal, Julie P and Tracey spent the first four weeks of 2015 settling the children into the room and into a routine. All of the Duckling children have settled into the room very well and look forward to learning lots of new skills and new experiences.
The educators have been encouraging grouptimes throughout different times of the day. In the morning we started teaching the children ‘The Name Song’, so all the children could learn the educators names as well as their new friends. We have also taught the children ‘The Fire Truck Song’, with the actions to the song as well. The children have really enjoyed learning the song and are able to verbalise many of the words from the song.
THE FIRE TRUCK SONG.
Hurry hurry drive the fire truck
Hurry hurry drive the fire truck
Hurry drive the fire truck
Ding ding ding ding ding
Hurry hurry turn the corner
Repeat two more times
Ding ding ding ding
Hurry hurry climb the ladder

Hurry hurry squirt the water
Repeat two more times
Ding ding ding ding ding.
Hurry hurry down the ladder

Hurry hurry drive the fire truck

We have introduced art and craft in the room. Please send your child in old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty if they get paint on them.
Thankyou to Cath, Sam and their family for donating a large red trough for our children to explore water play or many other different experiences.
Happy Birthday to Saskia, Iluka, Thomas.H, Sebastian for the month of January. Happy Birthday to Thomas.P for February. We welcome Thomas. J to the Ducklings Room.
Parents Please note: If your child insists on bringing a special toy to childcare, please make sure the toy is clearly labelled with your childs name on it. Educators will make every effort to ensure the toy is returned to your child’s bag as soon as your child has settled in for the day.
