The centre will be undergoing ratings and assessment between the 5th and 7th of March.
On Tuesday 5th March, the authorized officer will attend the centre to meet with Julie and myself to discuss Quality Area’s 6 and 7.
They will also be given a tour of the centre.

On Wednesday 6th & Thursday 7th March the authorized officer will visit the rooms with your children assessing the staff’s interactions, experiences provided, documentation of the children’s learning, the physical environment and the relationships staff have with the children and families. If you would like further information please see the ACECQA website. During the visit the authorized officer may ask parents questions about the centre. If you have any questions about this process please come and see Louise or Julie.

Community Board

We have established a community board in the centre’s hallway were families can post business cards and information about community events. We will also post information on school open days, community events and other relevant information.

Illness Board

There is a white board directly across from the staff photos which will notify all parents of any infectious illness that are currently in the centre.

Curriculum and Portfolios.

All parents and families members are encouraged to provide input into your child’s experiences at the centre and the evaluation of the experiences provided. This can be verbally to educators or via email which will be forwarded onto educators. Each child also has a portfolio which documents their learning whilst at the centre, this is available for parents and families to access throughout the year.

Solar Panels

The centre had solar panels installed in October last year. It has taken to the end of January this year to finally get us connected to the grid but we are now producing solar energy. I will let all families know what we have produced and what we have used once we have received our first bill. Thank you to Enviroshop for installing and giving us a great deal on the panels.

Children in Cars

The Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 states the following:

494. Offence to leave child unattended

(1) A person who has the control or charge of a child must not leave the child without making reasonable provision for the child’s supervision and care for a time which is unreasonable having regard to all the circumstances of the case. Therefore it is recommended that no children are left in the car whilst parents enter the centre to collect or to drop of another child.
